10 trailE r brak E ControllE r (if equipped)
Your F-150 offers an available fully-integrated trailer
brake controller (TBC). TBC synchronizes vehicle
and trailer brakes for seamless braking (even with the
heaviest loads) to provide added driving control and
confidence.* Factory-installed TBC with standard
Trailer Sway Control (TSC) is a combination that’s
class-exclusive** to the F-150.
*Remember, even advanced technology cannot
overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to
lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver
input for the conditions. For more information about
Ford vehicle stability systems, visit fordvehicles.com.

(if equipped)
Your vehicle may be equipped with an electronic shift
4WD system which allows you to choose between
2WD, 4WD High or 4WD Low. Choose 2H (2WD) to
provide power to the rear wheels only – used mainly for
street and highway driving. This mode provides optimal
smoothness and fuel economy at high speeds. Choose 4H (4WD High) for extra traction on snow,
icy roads or off-road situations. (not intended for dry
pavement use.) Choose 4L (4WD Low) when you need
extra gearing to provide maximum power to all four
wheels at reduced speeds. This is intended for use in
situations such as deep sand, steep grades or pulling
heavy objects.

appropriate for all on-road driving conditions, including
dry road surfaces, but is especially useful on wet
pavement, snow, dirt, or gravel.
Four-wh EEl D own towing – 4WD vehicles
can only be towed with all wheels on the ground by
placing the transfer case in its neutral position and
engaging the neutral tow feature. Perform the steps
outlined in the neutral tow section after positioning your

th E ElEC troniC loCking Di FFErEntial

In 4x4 vehicles the ELD can be turned on by pulling
the 4WD control knob toward you. In 4x2 vehicles ELD
can be activated by turning the ELD control knob from
